TOOLBX attended The National Home Show on March 9th- which ran for 10 days. We didn’t really know what to expect going in, having never worked a show before. Overall, it was a great experience and a great way to tap into the community and network with a specific niche of like-minded industry professionals. We were lucky to have the support of family and friends who generously volunteered their time to help man the booth (big shout out) so this was a huge help. We met some really awesome suppliers and fellow vendors, many of whom offered valuable advice and support. Here’s a quick recap of a few of the amazing vendors and suppliers we met at the show!
At the Canada blooms section. We had a chance to sit down with owner Darcy as he explained the process of the Canada blooms show. The vendors only have 7 days to build and landscape, and the entire displays can cost the vendor up to 100,000 depending on the display. Visit them at flatterydesign.com
Land-Con Landscaping was also a very impressive display. Owner Jeremy Lerner even had a time lapse video showing the construction of their booth! Learn more about them at landcon.ca.
Is on a mission to be the first franchised drywall company in Toronto and has created a bold and unforgettable brand! You can see it at mrdrywall.ca.
We must have watched Shawn Monteith from Canada’s Handyman do a “California” patch demonstration 20 times. It was great chatting with him about his experience as a contractor as well as all of the hacks he has developed over the years to get the job done right. You can visit them online at here.
Special thanks to Strawhat Restoration for giving us the low down on the show as well as the Hat tip advice!
Kiefer aka (@toolaholic) did an incredible instagram takeover while we talked shop with Aaron from @Wicklowcarpenter. We also spoke with Jordan Spear about his new show “A farmhouse Life” which has the production companies lining up. Status building group was a great neighbour covering our booth while we had to step away and it was great to talk about their business.
